Description: SCP-XXXX was a plot of land in Grimsby, England containing a manor-type house, historically the home of infamous tennis player Ray Edmunds. The house was built during the Victorian period, and considered to have significant historical and architectural importance, as the most complete and original example of such a building in England.
Any person or entity who legally owns SCP-XXXX is memetically compelled to redevelop it, even if they had no previous interest in doing so. This is most often facilitated by the previous owner selling the land exceedingly cheaply, in order to recoup losses from their respective failiures. This phenomenon occurs roughly every ten years.
The anomaly was first recorded in 1968, when MAC Development INC. attempted to redevelop the land into an apartment complex despite no demand in the area, and subsequently went bankrupt. Over the next 30 years, Thought-F.U.L LTD would attempt to build apartment complexes of various designs, but failed repeatedly at multiple stages.
All attempts to develop SCP-XXXX were intentionally thwarted by Foundation efforts. In late 2008, a fiscal audit by a newly-hired Head Researcher determined the best method of containing SCP-XXXX was to acquire the land, which occurred in 2011. SCP-XXXX is now the location of Site-718.
